Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc 75 CL

Walker Bay – South Africa

The Sauvignon Blanc grape has remained a local and international bestseller with its classic, tight minerality in perfect harmony with the elegant fruit. It has been named the best South African Sauvignon Blanc by The Wall Street newspaper and was the only Sauvignon Blanc to win a gold medal at The Classic Wine Trophy Awards in 2009. Southern Right Vineyards is named after the very rare Southern Right whales that pass the cool South Atlantic Walker Bay bay, three kilometers from the fields. For every bottle sold, Southern Right donates an amount to the conservation of Southern Right whales.

Straw yellow color in the glass with golden highlights. Complex bouquet nose. Aromas of juicy gooseberries, green paprika and white pepper. Shades of lemon peel, kiwi and melon. Medium body on the palate and refreshing structure. Hint of mineral character.

About Southern Right Vineyard
Southern Right Vineyards is a small Pinotage and Sauvignon Blanc specialist located on a stunningly beautiful 448ha estate in the cool, maritime Hemel-en-Aarde Valley appellation, just behind the old fishing village of Hermanus. Founded by Anthony Hamilton Russell in 1994, the goal of Southern Right was to produce serious, ageable Pinotage wines that combined the South African fruit and flavor palette with classic style and finesse. Very strict volume control and only harvesting when the grapes have reached exactly the desired maturity, combined with the perfect terroir, have helped to set new standards for South Africa’s red “national grape”.
