A warm and wonderful treat. The golden drops are produced in honor of the historic philanthropist Albert Santos Dumont (20 July 1873 – 23 July 1932), a world-renowned aviation pioneer, nobleman and style icon. He was the heir to a wealthy family known as the coffee kings of Brazil.
Rum and cachaça were distilled from sugar cane grown on the plantation. Santos Dumont XO “Palmira” is a “rhum traditionale” rum-based spirit – a traditional blend made from sugar cane juice instead of molasses.
Conventional rum is categorized as either English, Spanish or French. However, this is neither but in a category by itself. The golden drops are aged in casks that have previously shaped sweet wines. The blend is matured in the best casks where it is saturated with sweetness, mild tannins and noble oak. When poured into a glass, the golden Santos Dumont XO “Palmira” shines like polished vintage wood. Santos Dumont XO “Palmira” exhibits a wealth of complex flavors and a diversity that derives from the distinguished blend and the oak of the barrels.
