A beautiful decanter with accompanying box is a worthy packaging for this lovely reserve tawny.
It is made from selected, aromatic wines with between 4-7 years of aging in smaller casks to – through an oxidative aging – give the desired aging aromas, so that the finished wine now appears mature and rounded.
Sitting comfortably between a better, traditional tawny and a 10 year tawny, Reserve Tawny possesses the charming density and sweetness of youth, combined with the gentle, creamy fullness of age.
Boeira Reserve Tawny presents itself with a light mahogany color, scent of muscovado sugar, walnuts, orange and toasted barrel notes. The sweetness is absolutely present, but is balanced by a well-rounded acidity that gives an elegant balance. The taste has intensity and good length in the aftertaste.
We recommend a serving temperature of 14-18° and serving in a white wine glass with the wine, so that you get the full fragrance experience. Perfect as an aperitif, for blue cheeses, nuts, for nut-based cakes, desserts with dried, pickled fruit and for Christmas cookies.
Keeps for a few weeks in an open state, but it will often be an academic size, as a delicious port like this will usually be gone long before then.
