Port Askaig – Aged 8 Years 70 cl. 45,8%

Islay Singe Malt Scotch Whisky

Port Askaig 8 Years Old is a single malt whiskey from Islay in Western Scotland. Which distillery that has delivered the whiskey to this bottling is not known, but if you have to believe in the rumors, the Cool Ila peak candidate is. At least it is the same half-powerful smoke and citrus character. No matter where it comes from, it is an excellent whiskey! Tapped at 45.8% alcohol without cooling filtration or added dye.

Color: Pale golden.
Fragrance: Smoke and crispy citrus notes form the framework for a core of fresh fruit and malt.
Taste notes: honeysuckle, sea salt, licorice and peat.

Serving suggestions: should be enjoyed clean.

Port Askaig is a series of whiskeies from Elixir Distillers. The brand is named after the city of the same name, located on Islays east coast and in hundreds of years has been known as the “port of Islay”. From here and, many smugglers and whiskey fans have sailed over the years, and the name has almost been synonymous with smoke and seaweed and tar. Close to town is also the distilles of Cool Ila and Bunnahabhain, which rumored to play the main roles in several of the bottles.

From Port Askaig, the coastline of the nearby Isle of Jura can be skimped on a clear day, and it is this coastline that is the motive on the label of Port Askaig bottles.
