Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao Yuzu Late Harvest Limited Ed. 70 cl. 40%
Maison Ferrand – France
Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao Yuzu Late Harvest is a French citrus liqueur in a dry curaçao style from Maison Ferrand, the family-owned house behind Ferrand Cognac. It builds on Ferrand’s classic Dry Curaçao, but here with a stronger focus on late-harvest yuzu from Morocco, selected for its extra ripeness and more concentrated, almost candied aromatic profile. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 700 ml format.
From a producer perspective, it follows the same philosophy that defines much of Maison Ferrand’s work: taking historically grounded French spirits traditions and reinterpreting them for modern cocktail culture. The Yuzu Late Harvest release is a special expression within the Ferrand curaçao range, giving the classic style a more contemporary and citrus-led twist. Maison Ferrand also highlights that it is designed both for cocktails and for drinking on its own.
On the palate, it comes across as brightly citrus-driven, elegant, and relatively dry, yet with more depth than many simpler orange liqueurs. The late harvest gives the yuzu a rounder, softer character, and product descriptions point to notes of ripe yuzu, candied citrus, and gentle pastry-like tones, balanced by the Ferrand cognac base. Some descriptions also note that it is made with both macerated and distilled yuzu, which helps create greater aromatic complexity.
It is especially well suited to Margaritas, Sidecars, and other citrus-forward cocktails, where you want more personality and aromatic depth than a standard triple sec can offer. At the same time, it also works well neat, well chilled, or over ice, which the producer explicitly highlights. For anyone looking for a more distinctive curaçao with a clear yuzu signature, this is a highly considered and unusual bottling.
