Oliver & Oliver – Dominican Republic

An exciting rum that has been put on the market by Oliver & Oliver based in the Dominican Republic. The company does not have a distillery itself. Their core competence is to buy rum in the Caribbean and then mix it in the best way. It is always a secret which rums are included in the various blends. However, it is no secret that a large part of the rum originates from Cuba, where the Oliver family has its roots, and had a rum distillery at the end of the 18th century. The rest of the rum is from Panama, Trinidad, Colombia and Nicaragua, but a large part also comes from their own island, the Dominican Republic.

When they founded the company, they hired some Cuban rum makers and were allowed to buy about 100,000 liters of good Cuban rum. So, with a little goodwill, you can say that the company has good Cuban roots.

Nose

Honey, candy, syrup, ripe fruit a hint of malt whiskey. Unbelievably fantastic scent.

Taste

Marked sweetness, nougat melts on the tongue, very bold and rich rum. Spice from the malt whiskey Tomatin

Aftertaste

Long, rich aftertaste. Airy spices and a sweet tail. Complete symbiosis of rum and whiskey

Comment

A fantastic composition with the difficult link between rum and whisky.
