Graham’s – Six Grapes Reserve Port 75 cl. 20%

Douro Valley Port

Graham’s Six Grapes Reserve Port is one of the most iconic Ports from W. & J. Graham’s – a house that has stood as a benchmark of quality and tradition since 1820. Six Grapes is often described as the very heart of Graham’s style, as it is produced from the same grapes and vineyards used for the house’s renowned Vintage Ports. The grapes are harvested from high-altitude vineyards in the Douro Valley, where schist soils and dramatic terroir give the wines their particular intensity and structure.
The name Six Grapes originates from Graham’s old tradition of classifying Ports by quality. In the cellars, the winemakers would mark the barrels with chalk symbols of grape bunches – from one to six – to indicate quality. Six bunches was the highest classification, meaning the wine was suitable for use in the prestigious Vintage Ports. Six Grapes is therefore a symbol of top quality and comes from the same vineyards and grapes used in Graham’s Vintage Ports.

The wine shows a deep dark red colour with powerful aromas of ripe black fruits, plums, and cherries. The palate is full, generous, and complex, with layers of blackberry, dark chocolate, and spicy undertones. The texture is silky with rounded tannins, while the finish is long and elegant – a true expression of balance between strength and finesse. Six Grapes is bottled relatively young, typically after three to four years of cask ageing, to preserve the freshness and intense fruit character that define Graham’s style.

W. & J. Graham’s was founded by the Scottish brothers William and John Graham in the early 19th century and has since developed into one of the most respected Port houses. Today, the estate is managed by the Symington family, who have deep roots in the Douro Valley and more than a century of experience in producing fine Port. Their motto “Do Not Forget” reflects the strong heritage of tradition, passion, and innovation that continues to shape the house.

Six Grapes is a Port that combines power and elegance – perfect with mature cheeses, dark chocolate, or as a seductive finale to a fine dinner.
