Glenarclas is one of the few remaining Scottish distilleries that are still in family travel. The distillery retrieves the water, which is used in the distillation, in a small source embroying from the borrinnes.
Precisely the combination of the very clean, soft water and the unique shape on the potstills contributes to GlenarClas’s unique style.
Jim Murray writes in Lademann’s whiskey book on GlenarClas: “I hope their name when far and wide – their malt should be experienced by anyone seeking liquid beauty.”
Glenarclas 12 Years is an excellent introduction to GlenarClas style. Glenarclas means “the valley with the green grass”, and this particular freshness you find in this 12 year old Glenarclas.
GlenarClas 12 Years in 2006 in the Singlemal World Cup voted for best sherrylagen whiskey and in respectively. 2007 and 2008 named best whiskey at Stockholm Whiskey & Beer Festival.
Color as a golden grain field. Fresh and crisp fragrance with lightly spicy sweetness and a touch of orange. Full taste with notes of dried fruit, new wood and slightly sweet smoke that munds in an elegant and spicy ending.
