Glen Scotia Double Cask Bordeaux Red Wine Cask Finish is a characterful Campbeltown single malt where the distillery’s classic maritime style meets elegant red wine casks from Bordeaux. The whisky is first matured in selected first fill American oak bourbon barrels and then given a finishing period in French Bordeaux red wine casks, adding layers of red berries and gentle tannins on top of the honeyed bourbon sweetness. It is typically bottled at 46% ABV with natural colour and no chill-filtration, preserving a rich and authentic mouthfeel.
On the nose you’ll find notes of strawberries, raspberries and redcurrants alongside vanilla, honey, soft caramel and a hint of oak and sea breeze. The palate offers ripe red fruits, gentle spice, creamy malt and a subtle salty edge that is typical of Glen Scotia. The wine cask adds extra body, rounded sweetness and a vinous touch that works beautifully with the bourbon cask vanilla and citrus. The finish is medium to long, warm and elegant, with lingering red berries, mild oak, a touch of dryness from the wine tannins and a whisper of coastal salt.
