Glenrothes 10 Years 100 Proof Edition #50 is an expressive Speyside single malt with lively fruitiness, gentle spice and a fine balance between cask influence and distillery character. Distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2025, ten years of maturation have allowed Glenrothes’ classic style – malty sweetness, citrus, bright fruit and soft oak – to fully unfold. Bottled at 57.1% (100 proof), it offers extra concentration and power without sacrificing elegance.
On the nose you are met by juicy apples and pears, candied citrus, vanilla, honey and soft malt notes, supported by a discreet spicy touch from the oak casks. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a clean, fruit-driven profile: yellow apples, orange zest, light caramel and vanilla fudge, followed by pepper, ginger and a hint of nuttiness that adds depth. The high strength lifts the aromas and gives a clear kick, but falls beautifully into place with a few drops of water.
The finish is long and gently warming, with lingering notes of fruit, vanilla, mild oak and a light dryness that makes the whisky very easy to drink despite the high strength. This is a whisky for those who enjoy classic Speyside character with a little extra power – perfect as an evening dram, with a piece of hard cheese or simply for pure enjoyment on its own.
