Emile Giffard is at the time of pharmacist in Angers (Val de Loire). Experimental and curious he started researching the digestive and refreshing benefits of mint. The result was a clean, clear and refined mythician, which he tested at Grand Hotel’s guests. It was instantly a success.
Emile made his pharmacist about to a distillery and named his liqueur Menthe Pastille, as a reference to the mini pastillers who were very popular at the time.
4 generations later, Menthe Pastille is still a family business, where quality is still in the forefront.
