Soft notes of vanilla and lemon peel, which are counterbalanced by the stronger juniper notes.
Few is an American brand with a strong focus on craftsmanship and good raw materials. It is located in Everston, Illinois, just outside of Chicago.
The very special thing about Few is that they produce everything themselves, from the grain to the bottles. In other words, they manage the entire process themselves. Few produce both gin and whiskey. One of the main elements of the products is that all raw materials come from the immediate area around the distillery itself.
Despite being a relatively young distillery, Few has already achieved international recognition and won several awards.
FEW Spirits has the dubious distinction of being at what was the center of the American Temperance Movement. Evanston endured Prohibition for over 100 years, but FÃ… has quickly made up for lost time, producing a huge variety of spirits and whiskeys since their founding in 2011. In an ironic twist, the distillers take their name from the initials of Frances Elizabeth Willard, one of the temperance movement’s founders managers.
FÃ… have a dedication to artisanal production and quality, and this is demonstrated by their approach to producing this fantastic gin. Unlike most gins, which are made using neutral grain spirits, or a type of vodka, this gin is made using unaged bourbon (or white whiskey). This gives the gin a thicker texture and a deliciously sweet character. Another wonderful spirit from a distillery at the forefront of the American craft distilling movement.
Few Spirits is a grain-to-glass distillery in Chicago, Illinois. They are proud of that designation – because being hands on throughout the entire process is not commonplace in the modern whiskey landscape. Few was started in 2011 by Paul Hletko. His grandparents owned a brewery in the Czech Republic, which was “confiscated” by the Nazis during World War II, and to honor their memory, he also entered the alcohol business. However, it was not to be quite the same, because Paul is always looking for new horizons, so he started a distillery in Evanston instead – and this despite the fact that this city was the center of the fight against alcohol during the Prohibition era. In fact, the city was completely dry until 1972! Few Spirits became the first ever legal alcohol production in the city.
The small distillery houses three pot stills, and bourbon, rye, single malt and a variety of gins are made – all with quality and good craftsmanship in mind.
