El Dorado Rum 15 years is an award-winning rum from Demerara Distillers Ltd in Guyana. The rum has long been recognized as the Caribbean’s premier rum, and the 15-year-old El Dorado Special Reserve is seen as a fine, cognac-like rum that has the most exciting and complex character in its class. El Dorado 15 years won the “Gold Medal & Best in its Class” in 2011 at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London. In addition, at the same competition in 2011, it also won the “IWSC Trophy for Rum”
El Dorado 15 years is a blend of specially selected old rums, where the youngest is no less than 15 years old, and some are 25 years old. It is made from a combination of Enmore and Diamond Coffey Stills, Port Mourant double wood Pot Stills and Versailles single wood pot stills, then blended to perfection and aged in old bourbon oak casks. Tasting notes for El Dorado 15 years: Nose full of dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate, pepper and rich vanilla. Beautifully rounded on the palate with a great spread of flavours: grilled tropical fruit with spice – it is silky smooth, vibrant and moderately full-bodied.
