Dos Maderas – Double Aged Rum 5+3 Years 70 cl. 37,5%

A delicate rum blend from Barbados and Guyana. Two countries with their own style of rum. Both countries make rum using pot stills and column apparatus. The powerful and aromatic rum is made on pot stills and the more gentle and rounded on more modern column systems.

It’s a good rum. Born in the same way as “Dos Maderas 5+5” and “Dos Maderas 10+5 Luxus”. Handcrafted and aged in the Caribbean for the first time. The rum is then sent to Williams & Humbert Bodega in Jerez, where it gets a turn in a solera system. “Dos Maderas” is Spanish and means exactly two types of wood, which refers to the way the rum is stored and matured.

The difference between de Dos Madera’s different rums is the aging time. The 5+3 edition is 8 years in the making. First 5 years in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks and then 3 years in Spain in ex Dos Cartados Oloroso sherry casks – therefore 5+3 … hence the name Double Aged Rum!
