Château Orme Brun St.-Emilion Grand Cru 2019 75 CL

Grand Vin de Bordeaux – France

Château Orme Brun St.-Emilion Grand Cru is the dry, youthful Bordeaux you reach for when a classic French roast lacks good company.

This grand cru comes from a chateau consisting of a good 15 hectares of vineyards located south of the plateau. In vineyards cultivated completely without the use of herbicides, the best ‘right bank’ grape, merlot, dominates and is the only grape variety used in this cuvée.

It is stored in 225 liter oak casks of varying age, which not only microoxidises the wine and prepares it for further storage in the bottle; barrel aging contributes to the wine with structure and roasted aromas of coffee beans and a slight vanilla note.

This St.-Emilion Grand Cru exhibits in the top vintage 2019 complex aromas of red as well as dark berries with both fullness and concentration. Well, the wine is still young, but it appears healthy and balanced, so it’s no sin to drink it now. The tannins are nicely matched to the fruit, and promise to be aged for at least 8-10 years from the vintage if properly stored.

We recommend serving the wine at 17° – preferably oxygenated for 3-4 hours in the bottle, after which it is poured into a spacious ‘Bordeaux glass’.
