Calvados Christian Drouin – V.S.O.P. Pays d’Auge 70 CL 40%

Appellation Calvados Contrôlee – France

Produced in Pays d’Auge from bitter, bitter-sweet, sweet and sharp cider apples at double distillation in copper stills, VSOP is aged in small previously used dishes, including some former wine fade. The mixture also contains some sprits that are aged in previously added wine fade, adding additional sweetness and complexity. VSOP thus offers an appetizing fruit in relation to mature apple taste, combines smooth elegance with the first hints of spices. “Amber with copper height points. Focused, inviting nose suggests mature apple and tarte tatin. The palate reveals a crisp, focused and fruity calvados showing nice balance and persistence. Ideal as an introduction to the category” Comments from Gilbert & Gaillard 2016
