Unchill Filtered Limited Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The independent bottler Signatory Vintage bottled this Bunnahabhain Staoisha 8 year old. It is one of the last whiskeys from the bottler’s Copper series, which is bottled at drinking strength. The Islay Single Malt matured in first and second fill Oloroso sherry butts from 2014 to 2022. It was bottled uncolored and unfiltered at 43.0 percent by volume.
Nosing: The whiskey fills the nose with peat smoke. Behind it are notes of citrus fruits and berries. Maritime impressions round off the aroma.
Tasting: The 8-year-old Bunnahabhain Staoisha from Sigantory is spicy on the tongue. He’s bringing peat smoke and pepper. Light fruit notes penetrate and meet caramel. Oak initiates the departure.
Finish: The finish is long-lasting. The Scotch says goodbye with notes of roasted marshmallows. It also leaves sherry and peat smoke.
