Bruna Grimaldi Langhe Arneis is an expressive and elegant white wine from the heart of Piedmont, where the Arneis grape originates. The name Arneis loosely translates to “the little rascal” in the local dialect, reflecting the grape’s reputation for being challenging to grow. Today, however, it is celebrated as one of Piedmont’s most distinctive white varieties, producing wines that combine freshness, aromatic intensity, and structure.
At Bruna Grimaldi, the vines are planted in calcareous and clay-rich soils that lend the wine its delicate minerality and a clear sense of terroir. The grapes are hand-harvested in early September, gently pressed, and fermented at low temperatures to preserve purity and aroma. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to maintain freshness, while a short period of ageing on fine lees adds texture, smoothness, and depth.
In the glass, the wine shows a bright straw-yellow colour with lively reflections. The bouquet is nuanced and inviting, with aromas of white flowers, pear, green apple, and citrus, alongside exotic hints of pineapple, banana, and lychee. Subtle notes of almond and minerality add further complexity.
On the palate, the wine is fresh, balanced, and generous. The creamy texture gained from lees ageing is beautifully lifted by a vibrant acidity, creating harmony and finesse. A fine mineral backbone carries the finish, giving the wine both elegance and gastronomic versatility.
With an alcohol level of 13–14 %, this wine is highly versatile at the table. It pairs wonderfully with light starters, fish, seafood, vegetarian dishes, and mild cheeses. It works just as well as an aperitif as it does alongside refined cuisine. Bruna Grimaldi Langhe Arneis is a tribute to Piedmont and to a grape that has found its true expression in the rolling hills of the Langhe.
