Blair Athol 11 Years 100 Proof Edition #64 is a dense and dark Highland single malt from Blair Athol distillery in Pitlochry, Scotland. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2025, it has been fully matured in second fill Oloroso sherry butts, resulting in a richly sherried profile with deep fruit and spicy warmth. It is bottled at the classic 100 proof strength of 57.1%, without chill filtration and with no added colour, giving you a completely natural and unfiltered expression.
The nose is rich and dark with caramelised nuts, dried fruits such as raisins and dates, syrupy sweetness, orange peel, chocolate and spicy oak layered over Blair Athol’s oily, malty character. On the palate it is full-bodied, warming and almost Christmas-like, combining sherry sweetness, dark chocolate, toffee, roasted nuts and dried fruit with notes of cinnamon, clove and a touch of bittersweet cocoa that adds structure. The high strength brings extra power and concentration but remains well integrated, especially with a splash of water.
The finish is long, spicy and warming, with lingering notes of sherry, caramel, nuts and chocolate, and a gentle dry oakiness that keeps everything in balance.
This is a whisky for sherry cask lovers who enjoy higher strength and pronounced Highland character – ideal as a late-evening dram, with dark chocolate, or alongside a cheese board with mature hard cheeses and nuts.
