Autentico Nativo Overproof Rum 70 cl. 54%

It’s not everyday you see Spanish-style Rome tapped as overproof, but when it happens, it usually tastes the angels singing. Overproof room is a term for Rome tapped with more than 50% alcohol – the more percentages, the greater taste concentration. And with authentico Nativo overproof room you really get a taste bomb who at the same time keeps a nice balance on the alcoholic.

In collaboration with the people behind Autentico Nativo Space, Don Pancho Fernandez, which has more than 50 years of experience with rom production, created this series of exquisite Rome. Don Pancho began his career in Cuba, where he was trained by his mentor Ramon Fernandez Corrales. Since the 90s, Don Pancho lived in Panama, where he has helped to create the best Rome in the world, in collaboration with Destilería Las Cabras where Authentico Nativo overproof room is distilled.

Authentico Nativo Overproof Space is matured in Panama between eight and ten years of used barrels from American whiskey production. Subsequently, the ROM is transferred to new barrels previously contained naturally cocoa extract – this production phase gives something special to the powerful Rome.

With its 54% alcohol, autentico nativo overproof combines the natural taste from the sugar cane meal and the American oak, with cocoa – it gives a great taste, which is both deep, soft and full. Notes of chocolate, caramel, burnt sugar and mature fruit ends in a long and comfortable aftertaste. You should not be scared by the 54% alcohol, as the high alcohol is extremely well integrated in the flavor experience, while helping to turn up the taste intensity.
