Althea Prosecco Superiore Brut is a classic Prosecco from Valdobbiadene, made exclusively from Glera grapes grown on the hillsides of Conegliano–Valdobbiadene in Veneto. The combination of steep, mineral-rich slopes and a relatively cool climate results in a dry, crisp and elegant sparkling wine with plenty of freshness and finesse.
In the glass, it shows a straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights and a fine, persistent perlage. The nose is clean and focused, with notes of green apple and citrus, accompanied by a subtle hint of bread crust. On the palate it is fresh, mineral and dry, with lively acidity and a long, pure finish. This makes it an excellent choice as an aperitif, but it also pairs very well with seafood, fish dishes, light pasta, salads and classic antipasti. Serve at 6–8 °C in a tulip-shaped glass.
The wine is produced by Azienda Agricola Althea, a small family-run estate located in the heart of the Conegliano–Valdobbiadene hills. The winery was founded in 2003 by Marika Drusian, who comes from a long line of winegrowers. She replanted the vineyards around the property near Vittorio Veneto to create a quality-focused production with a strong sense of place.
Althea’s core is Prosecco Superiore in several styles, complemented by a small range of Prosecco DOC and sparkling wines. Hand-harvesting, careful vineyard work and a modern, precise expression of the local terroir are central to the philosophy, with freshness, pure fruit and elegance as the hallmark of every bottle.
