Everyday wines from Piedmont are either expensive or poor.
Aldo Vajra’s Langhe Rosso, a cuvée of Dolcetto, Barbera, Alba Rossa and Freisa, proves this wrong: it is delicate, intense, and affordable.
It offers flavours and aromas of cranberry, tangy cherry, dark plum, spices and a subtle hint of pine, all supported by ripe tannins.

“Literally dances across your tongue”
Langhe made from Dolcetto, Pinot Noir, Barbera, Freisa, Albarossa and Nebbiolo – a wild blend, isn’t it? This is truly fascinating – one of those wines that surprise, challenge, and remind you why wine is so exciting. The nose takes you straight to Piedmont with notes of bright cherry, unripe strawberry, redcurrant, plum, clove, leather and a touch of smoke. On the palate it is elegant – it literally dances across your tongue – full of freshness, acidity and remarkably easy to drink.

About G.D. Vajra
G.D. Vajra is a relatively young estate in Piedmont – and quite possibly the first in the region to embrace organic viticulture. Beautifully located in the hills near the town of Barolo and surrounded by the Alps, its vineyards allow grapes to ripen slowly, developing refined, fruit-driven expressions. A visit to the winery is as much a visual delight as it is an oenological one – winding mountain roads lead past Vajra’s finest vineyards, where powerful vines yield consistently outstanding Barolo wines.
Barolo is often associated with prestige and exclusivity, but Vajra’s philosophy is different: wine should bring joy and be accessible to everyone. Under the motto “Life is beautiful”, they create colourful, vibrant wines intended for any ordinary Tuesday as much as for special occasions.
Vajra’s style is characterised by elegance and freshness – often compared to Burgundy – thanks to vineyards located at around 400 metres above sea level. Since its founding in 1972, the family has expanded to 40 hectares, with Nebbiolo at its core. The wines are vinified in a traditional manner, with long macerations and mostly Slovenian oak, often using the old “submerged cap” technique, resulting in pure, stable wines with great ageing potential.
