J. S. RASCH VIN & SPIRITUS
J. S. Rasch Wine and Colonial Goods has been selling life’s finer things since 1807. The current ownership goes back two generations.

Moulin-à-Vent is rightfully one of the most famous and prestigious of the crus in Beaujolais, located side by side at the northern end of Beaujolais, a real estate stone’s throw south of Mâcon.
The wines from Moulin-à-Vent are among the most structured but also among the most characterful.
The grape is gamay, which is hand-harvested from old ‘bush vines’ that stand on decomposed granite at an altitude of 250-350 metres.
Château de Chénas is a well-functioning cooperative that today consists of just over 100 cooperative farmers.
Smell and taste have dense forest berry aromas, as well as a spicy violet note. A fresh fruitiness keeps the wine in the juicy spectrum, while at the same time it leans towards a slightly stronger and more ambitious style than simpler, frivolous beaujolais, but without giving up the pleasure of drinking in the glass.
When young, this is an excellent food wine with a wide range of light meat dishes, beef tartar, with a good pâté or pâté with baguettes and salad, with Wiener schnitzel or simply as a nice glass of wine early in the morning.
We recommend a serving temperature of 13-17°.
Château de Chéna’s Moulin-à-Vent Coeur de Granit can be enjoyed now and around 5-7 years from vintage.
