Champagne Ruinart Brut 75 cl.

Ruinart – Champagne

Ruinart traces its roots back to 1729, when it was founded by Nicolas Ruinart—making it the oldest Champagne house. As early as the mid-18th century, space became an issue, and Ruinart acquired the ancient chalk cellars beneath the city of Reims for ageing. Today, these cellars are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the glass, it is bright, lively and golden with a persistent mousse. Elegant and well-balanced with a full body. Fruity with green plums and nectarines and a long, fine finish.

92 points – Falstaff
Light greenish yellow, silver reflections, fine persistent mousse. White apple fruit with a hint of lime zest, delicate hazelnut, candied orange zest. Juicy, fine yellow tropical fruit, pleasant acidity, mineral touch, discreet blossom honey on the finish; versatile.

91 points – Natalie MacLean
A vibrant, fresh and lightly floral Champagne with a long toasty finish. Very fine craftsmanship. Pair with oysters and celebrations.

91 points – Guía Peñín
Colour: bright straw-yellow. Nose: fine lees notes, floral, aromatic herbs, expressive. Palate: powerful and savoury, good acidity, fine bubbles, balanced.

90 points – Wine Enthusiast
Ruinart, one of Champagne’s oldest brands, produces a fresh, delicate non-vintage style, with a soft mousse and good bottle-age toast and yeast. The wine is edged with citrus, giving a fresh, apéritif style of Champagne.

90 points – Tasted (Andreas Larsson)
Light golden with an expressive nose of pine nuts, green fruit, pear and roasted almond. The palate is really fresh and shows good bite, fine mousse, vivid freshness and zesty fruit, elegant style, good notions of Chardonnay, fine length.

Recommended – Vivino (4.3/5)
