Pagus Pisano Amarone della Valpolicella 2016 75 cl.

Valpolicella – Italy

Pagus Bisano Amarone is a powerful, generous classic-style Amarone—ideal if you love deep fruit, warming spice, and a smooth, velvety finish.

Amarone is made from grapes that are dried after harvest (appassimento), concentrating both flavour and texture. In the glass, this typically translates into a dense, dark-fruited profile with notes of dried cherries and plums, cocoa/dark chocolate, vanilla, spice, and sometimes a subtle hint of tobacco or toasted nuts. The palate is full-bodied and rounded with a long finish, often balancing the wine’s rich fruit character with a drier, warming close.

Serving & food pairing
Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes to let it open up. A great match for slow-cooked dishes, beef, game, truffle-based dishes, mushroom risotto, or aged hard cheeses. It’s also a fantastic post-dinner “sipping wine” when you’re in the mood for something bold and indulgent.
