Widow Jane Decadence 2025 is a small-batch bourbon from Brooklyn, New York, that lives up to its indulgent name. Built on a base of up to 10-year-old blended straight bourbon, it is finished in American oak barrels that previously held Crown Maple artisan maple syrup from Upstate New York. The result is a rich, dessert-like whiskey with prominent notes of maple, caramel and toasted oak.
On the nose, expect maple syrup, toffee, vanilla, toasted pecans and hazelnuts, gently charred oak and hints of cookie dough and dark chocolate. The palate is thick and velvety, layering caramel, maple sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, honey, toffee, cocoa and roasted nuts over a soft bourbon core. The mouthfeel is creamy and luxurious, with a warming but well-rounded spice. The finish is long, sweet and nutty, with lingering maple, burnt sugar, toasted oak and a touch of drying spice to keep things in balance.
