A top single-vineyard wine from Vouvray in the Loire. The nose is broad and complex, where bright citrus leads the way, followed by green apples and pronounced minerality. The palate is intense, with hints of yeast, citrus and chalky white limestone. You don’t taste the oak, but the long time on lees adds depth, complexity and a rounded texture. A white wine with real intensity, ideal with hard, aged cheeses and flavourful starters.
This comes from a historic parcel the family has bottled separately for many years. The vineyard sits on a hillside enclosed by a stone wall. The soil is limestone, and the site lies just below “Rochecorbon’s Lantern,” overlooking the Loire River. Its unique position and microclimate deliver grapes with extra concentration and intensity. The grapes ferment in old 500-litre barrels and remain in contact with the skins for up to two months, before being moved to new barrels where the wine rests on fine lees for nine months prior to bottling.
