Torricino Raone Greco Di Tufo Riserva DOCG 2023 75 cl.
Di Marzo – Campania Italy
Torricino Raone Greco di Tufo Riserva DOCG 2023 (75 cl) is a serious, mineral-driven white wine from Tufo in Irpinia (Campania)—the heart of the Greco di Tufo DOCG area. “Raone” is Torricino’s more selective, prestige expression of 100% Greco, designed to showcase the region’s signature mix of bright acidity, stony salinity, and firm structure.
The producer – Torricino
Torricino is a family-owned estate in Tufo, tied to the Di Marzo family. In the 1970s, Vitantonio Di Marzo began working more carefully and methodically with the family’s vineyards, laying the foundation for the estate’s quality-focused approach. Today, the work is led and developed by Stefano Di Marzo, with a clear emphasis on strict selection in both vineyard and cellar to highlight the grape and the place.
How the wine is made
Raone follows a clear quality philosophy:
Hand-harvested fruit with strict selection
Only the best fraction of the juice is used (the “free-run” portion)
Fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeast, without temperature control
Around 6 months on the lees for added complexity and structure
Followed by bottle ageing before release, contributing to a more “mature” Riserva feel
Flavour profile
Nose: Fresh and nuanced with citrus/grapefruit, yellow stone fruit (peach/apricot), and a clear mineral core. Palate: Dry, focused, and concentrated—with clean fruit, lively acidity, and a distinct saline/mineral thread that adds grip and length. Finish: Long and precise, often ending with a pronounced salty/mineral echo that makes it exceptionally food-friendly.
Serving and food pairing
Serve at 10–12 °C in a slightly larger white-wine glass and give it a few minutes to open—more fruit and floral detail will emerge. Excellent with seafood, grilled fish, octopus, pasta with lemon/herbs, salty starters, and aged hard cheeses. It’s also a great match for saffron dishes or creamier plates where the wine’s acidity and salinity cut through the richness.
