About the Product
A delicious Irish example of triple-distilled Single Malt whiskey. This is a delicate and smooth whiskey made exclusively from malted Irish barley, aged in two stages: first in American oak casks that previously held bourbon, and then in European oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry.
The whiskey has an alcohol content of 40%.
Tasting Notes
The double maturation adds rich, honey-sweet maltiness and soft notes of candied fruits. The former is particularly prominent in the aroma, while the latter shines when the whiskey is tasted. The finish transitions into sun-dried raisins and spicy oak notes.

However, due to a prolonged series of challenges – such as famine, Prohibition, and an unwillingness to adapt to a changing market – the Irish whiskey industry underwent a gradual yet fatal collapse, leaving only two active distilleries on the entire island by 1970.
Fortunately, the tide has finally begun to turn for Irish whiskey, with many new distilleries emerging across the island. Walsh Whiskey, founded in 1999 by husband-and-wife team Bernard and Rosemary Walsh, aims to be at the forefront of this Irish whiskey renaissance. They achieve this with their two product lines of Irish whiskey: Writer’s Tears and The Irishman.
