Europe’s Hidden White Wine Finds – Bundle 6×75 cl. (1x Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi, 1x Greco Riserva, 1x Argilex Sec, 1x Sapata Aligotè, 1x Veltliner Hoher Rain, 1x Capellanes Godello)

Europe’s Hidden White Wine Finds is a selection for anyone who wants to discover white wines with more personality, more sense of origin, and more soul than the obvious choices. Here, six bottles come together to show another side of Europe: mineral verdicchio, saline greco, bone-dry chenin blanc, fresh aligoté, precise grüner veltliner, and elegant godello. This is a package for anyone who enjoys white wines with tension, craftsmanship, and clear identity — wines that not only taste good, but also tell the story of where they come from.

Fattoria Coroncino Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi
A rich yet vibrant white wine with notes of ripe apple, citrus, chamomile, almond paste, and a clear mineral edge. The palate is soft and enveloping, yet lifted by fresh citrus acidity and a long finish, making the wine both generous and highly food-friendly. It is especially well suited to grilled fish, seafood, truffle dishes, risotto, and pasta dishes where herbs, olive oil, and salinity can shine. At Coroncino, the family works as independent artisan producers in Staffolo according to organic and biodynamic principles, with a strong focus on verdicchio’s personality and the expression of the area. What makes this wine unique is the way it combines verdicchio’s classic freshness with unusual depth, weight, and charisma.

Torricino Raone Greco Di Tufo Riserva
A deep, taut, and mineral-driven wine with notes of citrus, pear, peach, herbs, and an almost smoky, sulfur-tinged salinity that gives it a highly distinctive expression. The palate is concentrated yet energetic, with clear stony character and a long, serious finish. It works beautifully with grilled fish, richly flavoured seafood dishes, rustic soups, aged cheeses, and other dishes where the wine can show both power and precision. The wine is made from 100 percent greco di tufo from Vignale in Tufo, above the old sulfur mines, on limestone and clay soils marked by sulfur veins. The grapes are hand-harvested, only the best free-run juice is used, fermentation takes place in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and no temperature control, and the wine then rests for six months on the lees followed by additional bottle ageing. What makes it unique is precisely the meeting of the grape’s natural power with the almost sea-sprayed minerality that Tufo can deliver.

Vouvray Argilex Sec
A dry and precise chenin blanc with notes of pear, lemon, apricot, and floral nuances, followed by a long, mineral finish. The style is fresh, focused, and beautifully structured, with both tension and a light waxy depth that makes the wine particularly interesting in the glass. It pairs very well with fish, prawns, chicken, vegetable dishes, fresh goat cheese, and other lighter dishes where freshness and texture take centre stage. Argilex is made by Domaine de la Châtaigneraie in Vouvray, where Benoît Gautier works in a classic, terroir-driven way. The grapes are hand-harvested, fermented fully dry with natural yeasts at low temperature, and both fermentation and ageing take place in stainless steel with fine lees contact until bottling. What makes this wine unique is the way it shows the driest and most precise side of Vouvray, where clay and silex bring both sharpness and depth.

La Sapata Aligotè
A fresh, youthful, and lightly aromatic aligoté with notes of citrus, green apple, white flowers, and discreet minerality. The palate is clean, lively, and light on its feet, yet with enough substance to feel more serious than many other light white wines. It works very well as an aperitif and with fish, seafood, salads, lighter meat dishes, and dishes with fresh acidity or herbs. The wine is organically grown in Sarica Niculițel on sandy clay soils, with both younger vines and older plantings of up to around 40 years of age. The juice from the first pressing of whole bunches ferments at 18 degrees and is then aged in stainless steel to preserve purity and freshness. What makes it unique is that a frequently overlooked Burgundy grape here finds an unexpectedly convincing and distinctive voice in Romania.

Weingut Geyerhof Grüner Veltliner Hoher Rain
A cool, juicy, and highly precise grüner veltliner with classic notes of herbs, white pepper, apple, melon, and white peach. The wine has disciplined body, ripe acidity, and a clean, almost airy clarity that makes it both elegant and very food-friendly. It is an excellent match for fish, seafood, asparagus, fish soup, smoked salmon, and white meat dishes. The grapes are hand-harvested in small boxes at the beginning of October, gently whole-bunch pressed, slowly fermented in stainless steel, and then aged on full lees until the end of February. What makes it unique is its quietly complex style — less broad-shouldered than many other grüner veltliners, but with far greater precision and finesse.

Pago de los Capellanes O LUAR DO SIL Godello
An elegant and mineral-driven godello with notes of citrus, white flowers, pear, and peach, followed by a silky, fresh, and long palate with a light spice. It is a wine with both finesse and body, making it highly versatile with fish, seafood, white meats, and vegetarian dishes. The wine comes from old vineyard parcels at around 450 metres above sea level in Seadur in Valdeorras, where godello grows in deep clay soils over decomposed granite. The grapes are carefully selected, undergo a short cold maceration, ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and then rest on the lees for a period before bottling. What makes this wine unique is the way Pago de los Capellanes gives godello both clear minerality and an almost polished elegance without losing the grape’s sense of place.
