Royal Brackla 16 Years – Symington’s Choice – Signatory Vintage 70 cl. 57,9%
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Royal Brackla 16 Years – Symington’s Choice – Signatory Vintage 57.9% is a richly sherried Highland single malt, bottled as a single cask in the Cask Strength Collection and personally selected by Andrew Symington. Distilled in 2008 and matured for 16 years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt made from American oak (cask no. 9), it was bottled in 2025 at its natural cask strength, yielding just 671 bottles.
The nose is lush and silky, with toffee apples, stewed plums, dark chocolate, dates, raisins and baking spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg, wrapped in caramel, honey and spiced vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, showing layers of dried fruits, spiced vanilla, leather, dark syrup and caramelised sugar, alongside firm oak spice and a warming peppery kick from the high strength. The finish is long and indulgent, with roasted nuts, orange peel, black coffee and a lingering sherry sweetness tying everything together.
This is a whisky for those who enjoy big, sherry-driven Highland malts at full strength, where fruit, chocolate, oak and spice take centre stage – a perfect late-evening dram in a tulip glass, with a few drops of water to unlock even more dark fruit and elegant vanilla-and-coffee notes.
