New World Red Wine Finds is a wine case for anyone who wants to discover red wine favourites from the New World – in other words, wine regions outside Europe’s classic heartlands. This is all about generous fruit, clear varietal character, and wines that often deliver plenty of flavour from the very first glass. In this case, Chile, Australia, Argentina, California, and South Africa come together in a selection of red wines that show just how expressive, charming, and food-friendly the New World can be.
What does New World Red Wine Finds mean?
In this context, it simply means red wine discoveries from the New World: wines with a modern, fruit-forward, and approachable style, but with clear personality and a sense of origin. It is a case that brings together some of the most appreciated expressions from wine countries where sunshine, climate, and winemaking often create round tannins, ripe fruit, and a great sense of drinkability.
An elegant and spicy Chilean red with clear Carmenère character. The palate offers black fruit, figs, graphite, bell pepper, clove, and a light touch of roasted coffee beans. The tannins are fine-grained and soft, making the wine both flavourful and easy to enjoy. It pairs especially well with lamb, red meat, pasta, and aged cheeses. The grapes come from the Aconcagua Valley, are hand-harvested early in the morning, destemmed, and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, 70 percent of the wine is aged in French and American oak barrels for seven months, adding extra depth without overpowering the fruit.
A charming Australian Shiraz with dark berry fruit and classic spice. It shows notes of black cherries, blueberries, blackberries, plums, and a discreet hint of pepper, creating a full yet soft expression. It works very well with grilled steak, richly flavoured tomato-based pasta dishes, and rustic everyday meals with a little extra depth. The grapes are harvested and crushed during the cool night hours to preserve freshness. Fermentation takes place in sweeping arm fermenters for gentle extraction, and the wine is then aged for around twelve months in French oak.
A juicy and well-balanced Argentine Malbec with both freshness and generous fruit. The flavour profile leans toward ripe plums, black cherries, blackberries, black pepper, and clove, with soft, rounded tannins and a light touch of vanilla and caramel from short oak ageing. It pairs beautifully with red meat, roasted vegetables, baked pasta dishes, and grilled food. The wine is made from hand-harvested grapes from Agrelo in Luján de Cuyo. After sorting, it is fermented in concrete tanks with cold maceration and around 20 days of skin contact. Forty percent of the wine is then aged for six months in French oak barrels, while the rest is kept without wood contact to preserve fruit and silky texture.
A soft and approachable Pinot Noir from California with elegant balance and attractive fruitiness. The palate offers dark cherries, gentle spice, and juicy red fruit, with a soft finish and fresh acidity that keeps the wine lively. It is especially well suited to duck, pasta, pizza, risotto, mild cheeses, and simple meat dishes. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, the must undergoes extended maceration to build colour and flavour depth, and fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine’s fruity and elegant style.
A full-bodied and smooth Cabernet Sauvignon with clear Californian charm. The palate is rich in blackberries, cherries, vanilla, and spicy oak notes, with a rounded structure and generous fruit that make it easy to enjoy. It pairs very well with barbecue, grilled dishes, pasta, and even dark chocolate. The grapes come from the Central Coast, where warm days and cool nights help the fruit ripen slowly and develop both flavour and acidity. The harvest takes place at night to keep the grapes cool, the must has two days of soaking before fermentation, fermentation lasts 7–10 days with skin contact, and the wine is then aged for nine months in American and French oak.
A dark, rich, and generous Merlot from South Africa with warm fruit and soft spice. The nose shows ripe sweet fruit, while the palate is dominated by dark berries, chocolate notes, and a round, full-bodied mouthfeel. This is a wine best suited to richer everyday dishes, grilled meat, hearty meals, and a cheese board. The fruit comes from older vineyards in the Wellington and Swartland areas, where low rainfall and granite-rich soils contribute concentration and character. The style is distinctly fruity, soft, and generous, with a focus on fullness and easy appeal.
