Planteray Rum – Trinidad Vintage 2003 70 cl. 47,8%

Planteray Trinidad 2003 is the final bottle in the Terraverra series: a string of limited edition rums from various Caribbean distilleries. Terraverra now reaches its climax with the oldest release in the series. The rum is an impressive 22 years old, with no less than 19 of those spent aging in the tropics. As is customary at Planteray, the final 3 years were spent maturing in Ferrand casks in Cognac, France. It has been bottled with no added sugar, no added coloring, and at a delightful 47.8% ABV. A dream of a rum and a worthy finale to an epic series.

Colour: Amber.
Nose: A fascinating mix of fruity, spicy, and slightly “funky” notes, with peach, guava, fig, and peppercorns.
Palate: Full-bodied and oily rum showing plenty of coconut, toasted oak, warm spices, and dates. Long finish with tobacco, cocoa, and pear.

Serving suggestion: Best enjoyed neat.
