Plantation Rum – Extreme No.4 Jamaica ITP 25Y Long Pond 70 cl. 62,6%
Rum Crafted By Maison Ferrand – France
Long Pond is the distillery in Jamaica that primarily represents the classic Austrian rum that has made Jamaica perhaps the world’s most celebrated rum nation. Plantation Extrême n ̊4 Long Pond ITP 1995 is distilled in 1995 in a classic John Dore pot still. After 23 years, the American bourbon cask was sent across the Atlantic to be finally aged for two years in French oak at the cognac house Maison Ferrand in the south of France. The crossing itself took more than a month and exposed the barrel to the stresses of the sea, which strongly contributed to the rum’s taste and aroma development. Plantation is famous for its double storage where two continents and totally different climates create a unique rum style. All releases in the Extrême series are bottled at cask strength, always as single casks without blending, coloring or added sugar.
Scent: Very fruity where ripe and green exotic fruits meet in a quiet spiciness with elegant notes of cinnamon, cumin, chocolate, almonds and walnuts.
Taste: Flowery, long and powerful. Caramelized pineapple and dark chocolate with hints of red cherries, dried apricots and ripe pears.
