Freshness, elegance and depth from the heart of Ribera del Duero
Pago de los Capellanes Joven Roble 2023 is a vibrant and youthful expression of the classic Spanish grape Tempranillo. Made from 100% Tempranillo sourced from over 25-year-old vines in Pedrosa de Duero and surrounding villages, the wine reflects the character of Ribera del Duero’s chalky clay soils.
After a carefully controlled fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged for five months in new French oak barrels. This adds finesse and structure without overpowering the pure fruit character.
In the glass, the wine shows a deep cherry red colour with violet hues. The nose is intense and inviting, offering notes of ripe red berries, blackberry, violet, liquorice and subtle hints of vanilla and spice from the oak. On the palate, it is round, fresh and elegant, with silky tannins and a balanced acidity. The finish is long and harmonious.
