Kilchoman 15 Years Old 20th Anniversary Cask Series 70 cl. 52,7%
Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
To celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025, Kilchoman released a special collection: the 20th Anniversary Cask Series. This series consists of four unique bottlings – two 14-year-olds, one 15-year-old, and one 18-year-old – each created from just five carefully selected casks. These releases represent the oldest whiskies ever bottled by Kilchoman and mark a significant milestone in the distillery’s journey as a modern Islay producer.
The 15-year-old anniversary edition is drawn from oloroso sherry butts laid down in 2008 and 2009. The combination of these casks has produced a whisky of remarkable depth and complexity. Bottled at 52.7% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, only just over 3,000 bottles were released, making it both rare and highly sought after.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, the whisky displays strong sherry influence with aromas of dried fruit, dark chocolate, warming spices and a subtle salinity reminiscent of Islay’s sea breeze. The palate is rich and intense, offering layers of raisins, caramel, orange zest, black pepper and liquorice, complemented by roasted nuts and a distinct yet well-balanced peat smoke. The texture is oily and full-bodied, adding weight and depth. The finish is long, warming and elegant, with lingering sweetness, smoke and a refined maritime character.
Availability and Price
As a limited edition, Kilchoman 15 Years Old is not easy to find. Prices have varied depending on the market, but generally ranged from £140 to £190, with some retailers placing it higher due to high demand.
