The wine is a blend of the three classic Champagne grapes: 35% pinot noir, 35% pinot meunier and 30% chardonnay. Part of the meunier component, around 10%, sees contact with wood, and the wine has a dosage of 7 g/l, placing it in a dry yet generous brut style. La Sereine is also aged for at least 40 months on the lees before disgorgement, giving it greater depth, finer mousse and more complexity.
On the nose, La Sereine shows a fresh and inviting expression with notes of citrus, raspberry, white flowers and candied orange peel. The palate is fresh and creamy, with hints of white peach, mango, citrus, sweet almond and lightly toasted bread notes. The mousse is fine and persistent, and the finish feels silky, balanced and highly elegant.
Its style makes it highly versatile both as an aperitif and at the table. It pairs especially well with elegant starters, gougères, shellfish, fish dishes and other plates where you want a Champagne with both freshness and a little more texture. Serve it at 8–10°C.
