Original, delicate and floral
Rounded and aromatic – with summer flowers, barley, juicy pears, apricots and notes of iodine and malted honey.
Long lasting and sweet.
About the Product
This whiskey is blended on a base of malt whiskies, all aged at least 12 years in American oak casks. After blending, the whiskey was aged for a further 6 months in custom barrels that had previously contained the Japanese Umeshu flower liqueur.
Hatozaki Japanese Small Batch 12 YO Umeshu Cask Finish is released non-chill filtered at an ABV of 47%.
The whiskey is pristine, delicate and floral. It offers a balanced taste experience, with an aromatic taste and floral notes. The style is elegant and light, and has a marked depth that comes from the malted barley. In the taste, you perceive notes of barley, iodine, fresh pears, apricots and honey. The finish of the flower liqueur has paid off in the form of a long-lasting and sweet aftertaste.
About Hatozaki Whisky
“Elegant, rounded and easy to drink”, this is how Kaikyō distillery itself describes Hatozaki – “our whiskey is the icing on the cake for relaxing moments with friends, family and other people you love. From the curious amateur to the seasoned connoisseur; Hatozaki welcomes everyone.”
Hatozaki was named after the oldest stone lighthouse in Japan, a symbol of safety and guidance from ancient times, which has thus been included in Japan’s list of Historic Monuments. Hatozaki’s design is strongly inspired by the soft and naturalistic art that was used in the Edo period (1603-1868), Hatozaki incorporates a deep respect for Scotch whisky, to which Japanese whiskey itself is indebted.
