This Deanston 2000 18 Years Red Wine Finish Chieftain’s was distilled in June 2000 and matured in a single barrel # 92701 before it was mature briefly in a red wind. It was bottled 18 years later in May 2019 with a yield of only 420 bottles.
Taste notes:
A beautiful tapping from Deanston Highland Distillery. This bottling of a single barrel received another maturation in a red-line, which gave the lightweight, dry and fresh Deanston character depth and agility.
Distillery:
Deanston distiller was built in an old cotton factory. The 19th century flair everywhere in the premises. After closing in the mid-80s, production was resumed in 1991. This Deanston was not cooled and manufactured by local barley.
Burn Stewart also bottled the new Deanston bottle with a higher alcohol content.
