Crystallum Cuvée Cinema is an elegant, cool-climate Pinot Noir from Hemel-en-Aarde in South Africa, created by brothers Peter-Allan and Andrew Finlayson. The grapes come from high-lying, wind-swept parcels with soils rich in clay and shale, giving both intense fruit and clear mineral freshness. The style is closer to classic Burgundy than to the warmer, riper “New World” expression – more complexity and finesse than sheer power and sweetness.
Style and flavour profile
Appearance: Clear, light to medium ruby red.
Nose: Refined aromas of red berries such as cherry, cranberry and raspberry, along with violet, rose petals, fine spice, forest floor and a touch of toasted oak.
Palate: Medium-bodied, silky and precise. Juicy red fruit, redcurrant and cherry, understated spice, a gentle herbal note and a chalky, mineral edge. The acidity is fresh, the tannins fine and ripe, and the oak is elegantly integrated.
Finish: Long and pure with lingering red berries, light spice and a cool, stony tension that invites another sip.
Food and serving suggestions Crystallum Cuvée Cinema is a very food-friendly Pinot Noir:
Perfect with poultry (duck, chicken), pork, veal, mushroom dishes, charcuterie and lighter game.
Also excellent with dishes featuring roasted root vegetables, mushroom risotto or grilled vegetables.
Serve at around 14–16 °C in a large Burgundy glass to get the full expression of aroma and finesse.
A serious yet charming Pinot Noir where cool elegance, pure fruit and terroir speak louder than alcohol and sheer power – a wine for both enthusiasts and true wine geeks.
