Equal parts art and alchemy – that’s how Compass Box describes their new whisky, Nectarosity. It’s a blend of no less than 11 components, including a generous amount of Linkwood from sherry casks (including Palo Cortado casks – wow!), Compass Box favorite Clynelish, and grain whisky from Cameronbridge and Girvan. The whisky is inspired by French pâtisserie and the sweet joys of life – and it’s safe to say they’ve nailed that flavor profile.
Color: Golden like a freshly baked croissant.
Aroma: Honey, ripe pears, and juicy nectarine. A hint of tropical fruit – perhaps pineapple – alongside plenty of toffee and caramel.
Tasting notes: Sweet, fruity, and creamy with medium body, showcasing all the notes from the aroma.
Serving suggestion: Enjoy neat, perhaps as a sidecar to a good, light beer.
