Double Cask is a new addition to the Ferrand Cognac portfolio. It is partially aged in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks – a rarity in the world of Cognac, to say the least – but the result speaks for itself. Double Cask has quickly become one of our favorites from Ferrand!
This is a blend of several cognacs of different ages – most between 7 and 10 years old, but it also includes spirit up to 20 years of age. The older cognac adds depth and complexity, and even a small proportion goes a long way in the blend.
It is also bottled at a slightly higher strength: 42.3%.
Color: Amber
Nose: Fruit takes center stage, with notes of caramel, spice, leather, fresh fruit and dried fruits like raisin, fig, and prune. A true pleasure to linger over.
Palate: Wonderfully sweet, round and soft. Warming spices, walnut, chocolate, nougat and plenty of raisin.
