Chazalettes is one of the historic names in Turin’s vermouth tradition. The family moved from Savoy to Turin in the 1860s, and in 1876 Clemente Chazalettes founded his own vermouth and liqueur house. Before that, he worked as a technical production manager at Martini & Sola, which helped shape the house’s strong focus on craftsmanship and recipe tradition. After a long hiatus, the brand has been revived by a new generation aiming to preserve and reintroduce the classic family recipes.
Chazalettes Vermouth Rosso Regina is a red Vermouth di Torino in a distinctly classic style: rounded, spiced, and aromatic, with more depth and bittersweet structure than a bianco and more softness than an extra dry. This kind of rosso is typically built around a clear backbone of wormwood (artemisia) and layered botanicals, where sweetness is part of the balance rather than the point.
In the glass, it often leans toward dark caramel, dried fruit, and orange peel, with spice notes that can suggest cinnamon, clove, and cocoa, plus an herbal, lightly balsamic depth that ties everything together. The palate is smooth and full, yet finishes with a clear, appetite-awakening bitterness—making it highly useful both as an aperitif and in cocktails.
Serving and use
As an aperitif: well chilled over ice with an orange twist, optionally topped with a small splash of soda to lighten it.
In cocktails: ideal for classics like the Negroni, Americano, Boulevardier, and Manhattan riffs when you want a rosso with both sweetness and herbal-bitter depth.
In cooking: great for sauces and glazes where you want spiced bittersweet complexity.
