As far as we know, this cask from the Savanna distillery on La Réunion is one of the oldest bottlings ever done by this distillery. It is of the “traditional” type, meaning it is fermented from local molasses and distilled in a small column still. This is “top-shelf confectionery” in every sense—nothing less than outstanding!
The rum is bottled at full cask strength, with no added sugar or coloring, exclusively for the Danish market.
Color: Dark. Aroma: A wealth of dark chocolate, dried figs, orange, and violets burst from the glass. Taste: The alcohol is exceptionally well-integrated, slowly releasing notes of star anise, marzipan, apricot, fig, and tobacco.
