CDI – Sancti Spiritus – Cuba 18 Years 70 CL 59%

Single Cask Premium Aged Rum

COMPAGNIE des Intes Cuba 18 years # CSS7 is a single-fader bottling of 18 years old Rome from the Cuban distillery, Sancti Spiritus. The room is tapped exclusively to the Danish market and it is neither water nor added sugar before bottling. The distillery is known as “light Rome’s cradle”, but this bottling has lots of power and heaviness in the taste – perhaps helped by the high alcohol percentage.

Color: Light golden.
Fragrance: Elegant scent of apples, peaches, strawberries and vanilla.
Taste noises: A fine heaviness in your mouth, with notes of sweet licorice, fallow soaps and rosemary.

Serving suggestions: should be enjoyed clean

COMPAGNIE des ines is a so-called “independent bottler”. The company has started by Frenchman Florent Beuchet, and picks up inspiration from the British Ostindian Company, which in sixteen, seventeen and eighteen century imported rare and exotic goods from around the world to Europe. Similarly, Florent Fade from Brokers and distilleries in the entire rom world – ranging from Florida to Jamaica, Fiji and Indonesia – and tapping them under the Brandet Compagnie des ines. Many are tapped as “single casks”, but CDI also publishes well-composed blends.

The last few years, the rest of Europe has crooked envy to Denmark when Florent serves the annual batch of exclusive, Danish single caps. These are always tapped in the dish strength and without added color or sugar – something that causes the teeth to run in water on Roma’s worldwide! But you also find more sweet and easy-drink Rome in the series of transcaribbean blends; eg Latino and Caraïbes. Here is something for everyone.
