Linkwood 14Y 100 Proof Edition #72 is a powerful and elegant Speyside single malt, bottled by the highly regarded independent bottler Signatory Vintage. Distilled in 2011, matured for 14 years and bottled at 57.1%, it delivers a full, concentrated and expressive profile. Matured in a combination of first fill oloroso sherry hogsheads and refill hogsheads, it offers a rich yet well-balanced style in which dark fruit, spice and cask depth meet Linkwood’s cleaner and fruit-driven distillery character. It is bottled without chill filtration and with no added colour.
About the producer Signatory Vintage is one of Scotland’s most respected independent whisky bottlers. Founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington, the company is known for selecting characterful casks and presenting whiskies with a clear focus on both distillate and cask influence. Their 100 Proof series has become especially popular for combining high strength, classic style and strong value, often in small batches with natural colour and without chill filtration.
Tasting notes The nose is rich and inviting, with notes of raisins, dried fruits, orange peel and spiced oak, followed by malt, nuts and an elegant sherried tone. On the palate, it is dense and flavourful, showing dark fruit, sherry sweetness, spice and toasted oak, while the refill casks help preserve a clearer Linkwood character with fine fruitiness and balance. The finish is long, warming and spicy, with notes of dried fruit, oak, orange zest and a lightly nutty ending.
