Calvados Christian Drouin – Reserve Pays d´Auge 70 CL 40%

Appellation Calvados Contrôlee – France

Complex and rich calvados-blend, produced in the Pays d’Auge of bitter, bittersweet and sweet apples using double distillation in copper boilers. Stored primarily on small, old, used oak dishes. Light, nice and golden in color as autumn in Normandy. The aroma plays on several keys with hint of apples, of course, maple syrup, citrus fruit, spices and almonds.

Calvadoshuset Christian Drouin was founded immediately after World War II of Christian Drouin, who had set itself on the goal of producing the world’s absolute best Calvados. This got him in the first restructuring to seek out the area’s smaller wine farmers to buy their stocks of Calvados, which laid the cornerstone to the EXCEPTIONAL Collection of vintage Calvados. In 1960, Christian Drouin then decided to take the step fully and produce his own Calvados. However, there should go 19 years before he felt that the collection of old eau de VIEs combined with his own production was sufficiently great for the fact that he could drop the first calvados in the house’s own name. Since then, Christian Drouin has had a tremendous success, and today you can back to have received more prices and premiums for the product range than all other Calvados manufacturers together! Today it is the Son, Christian Drouin d. 2, which has taken over. In addition to the so famous VintageCalvados, who extend back to 1939, the house also produces a number of stunning blends, pommeau’s and corders.
