CADE Estate is situated on a property with a total of 21 hectares planted with vines. Located in the heart of Howell Mountain, CADE’s vineyards range in elevation from 1,500 to 1,850 feet and are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. The 2018 vintage also includes fruit from the winery’s newly acquired 82-hectare property on Howell Mountain – 13th Vineyard. The fruit was harvested from October 5 to November 1, making this the largest vintage ever for CADE.
The fruit was hand-picked, destemmed as whole berries, hand-sorted, and pumped into small stainless steel fermentation tanks. The must was kept temperature-controlled during a two-day cold soak. Fermentation was warm and rapid. Maceration lasted 6–7 days. The wine was aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels.
The 2018 vintage resulted in a wine full of remarkable fruit, juicy texture, and plenty of spice.

Colour: Deep red. Nose: Blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla bean, graham cracker, and blackcurrant. Palate: Flavours of boysenberry, raspberry coulis, chocolate-covered espresso beans, brown spices, and red cherry. The tannins are structured and elegant. The density and mouthfeel truly showcase the wine’s silky, opulent, and full-bodied nature.
