This exclusive single cask release from Aultmore has been bottled by Signatory Vintage as part of their prestigious Symington’s Choice Cask Strength Collection. Distilled on April 10, 2006, it was matured for 18 years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt (cask number 900192) before being bottled on February 18, 2025. A total of 594 bottles were filled at its original cask strength of 65.5% ABV, with no chill filtration and no added colour.
The nose is deep and complex, delivering rich notes of dark fruits like plums, raisins, and dried figs, intertwined with dark chocolate, leather, roasted nuts, and a touch of cinnamon. On the palate, the whisky is full-bodied and intense, offering layers of honeyed dates, rich sherry, and dark roasted coffee, balanced with spice from nutmeg and clove, plus a hint of orange zest and oak.
The finish is long, warming, and elegant. Expect lingering notes of dried fruit, dark cocoa, a subtle suggestion of tobacco, and a smooth interplay of sweet, spicy, and oaky elements.
Summary
