This limited edition is distilled at Lochranza Distillery from malted barley grown on the Isle of Arran — including at the Currie family’s Bellevue Farm near Blackwaterfoot. The initiative strengthens traceability and island terroir by using locally grown barley.
Maturation & style
The whisky is bottled at 50% ABV and showcases Arran’s fruity house style in a more concentrated expression. Like other Arran bottlings, it is non-chill filtered and has no added colouring to preserve its natural character.
Tasting notes
Nose: fresh fruit and citrus over honey and vanilla, with a hint of herbs and anise.
Palate: full and lively; spicy warmth (ginger), sweet oak, ripe apples, and a grain note from the local barley.
Finish: medium to long, dry and clean with citrus and gentle spice.
Serving
Enjoy neat at 16–18 °C; a few drops of water open up fruit and vanilla.
Well suited as an aperitif or with firm cow’s-milk cheeses and smoked salmon.
Background
Bellevue Farm grows barley for the island’s distilleries and works in a circular way, returning spent grain as feed. The Lochranza distillery was founded in 1995 and is known for a natural approach to whisky with no colouring and no chill-filtration.
